For centuries, handcrafted soap has been used for a variety of reasons, to use all parts of farm animals, to help with skin maladies, to just plain clean. One of the most popular types of soap has always been made with Pine Tar. Pine Tar has been used in horses for years to help strengthen hoofs and treat hoof conditions, but has gained quite a following in use in body soap.
At nearly every event, I get asked if I make a Pine tar soap, and I am super excited to finally have one to offer.
Pine Tar has a very distinct scent, to me it smells like a blacksmith. But the soap is amazing on the skin, very nourishing, gentle and soothing. I love all of my soaps (or I wouldn’t sell them) but this may be one of my favorites to make and to use.
